Meet the Doctors
Dr. Tanja Menks
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University Clinic of Munich in 1996. She has performed a 1 year internship at the University Clinic of Munich working in the Internal Department for Small Animals and Equines, specializing in endoscopy.
She received her United States Veterinary License after graduating at Tuskegee University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and started to work in a Mixed Animal Clinic in Yakima.Tanja Menks DVM moved in 2006 to the Tri-Cities area working as a veterinarian and in April of 2009 started Dr. Menks' Mobile Vet Care offering her skills and veterinary services door to door. Starting with a 20 year old clinic, no surgery suite, no digital radiography, no air condition... it still impressed a lot of people! They loved that they received more personable care for their pets. At the 10 month mark, she acquired the 'Big Rig' at a convention in Las Vegas, tossing the return air plane tickets and drove it home. With her 'everything anywhere and anytime' attitude she has developed a very successful practice. She says that the things that keep her sane are walking her dogs and riding her horses - so a fifty mile endurance ride on her horse is considered fun? |
Dr. Alison Brendel
Alison Brendel grew up in the Tri-Cities dreaming of working with animals. She started riding horses when she was 6 years old, going on to compete in local jumping and endurance events. She continues working with horses to this day, and is owned by several Polish Arabians. When she graduated from Richland High, she moved to WSU and was accepted out of high school for entrance into the College of Veterinary Medicine. Graduating in 2002, she returned home and worked part-time as a veterinarian while also working in her family’s Hanford subcontracting firm.
In 2012 she got the opportunity to practice veterinary medicine full time and has never been more fulfilled. She enjoys working with the staff at Dr. Menks’ Mobile Vet Care and meeting all the wonderful and varied clients with their animals. She has specialized experience with behavioral medicine and equine reproduction. She relaxes by playing and training and showing her Silken Windhounds, riding and training her horses and reading any book she can get her hands on. |
Dr. Wendy Peterson Dr. Peterson worked in the veterinary field for many years before graduating from St.George's University ( SGU). She spent her clinical year in Price Edward Island at the Atlantic Veterinary College. After graduating, she returned to SGU as an instructor of Large Animal Medicine.
